Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a pain-free assisted stretch system that assesses and improves flexibility and range of motion in the body.
It is ideal for those looking to improve tension associated with muscle and joint stiffness, increase range of motion for daily life or sports performance, and generally anyone who wants to move better.
At Axon Chiropractic and Rehab, FST is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist, Matt Purdy (RMT), and is covered by insurance plans under registered massage therapy services.
Patients should arrive at their FST appointment in stretchy comfortable clothing such as tights, shorts, sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top. Think of what you would wear at the gym or for a workout!
Your fascial stretch therapist will gather information about your injury history including posture, pain, quality of movement, and quality of sleep. You will be asked to participate in some muscle contractions to determine your range of motion.
Based on assessment of your condition and discussion of your goals, your fascial stretch therapist will perform assisted stretches on your body.
