How do I make an appointment?
The most convenient way is to make an online booking via our booking system. You will be able to see our practitioners’ schedules in real-time and confirm your booking instantly.
However, we are also happy to coordinate your booking via phone at 416-901-2966 or by email.
What services does Axon Chiropractic and Rehab offer?
Axon Chiropractic and Rehab offers chiropractic care, registered massage therapy, stretch therapy, custom orthotics, cupping therapy, contemporary acupuncture, medical compression stockings, and functional rehabilitation.
Do I need a doctor’s referral before using Axon Chiropractic and Rehab’s services?
No, a doctor’s referral is not needed before you come to the clinic. However, if you plan to make a claim against an extended health insurance provider after your visit, please check with your insurance provider to confirm if a referral is necessary. In some cases, some plans do stipulate that a referral is necessary.
Unfortunately, every individual’s extended health insurance plan will differ and we would not be able to check on your behalf.
Does Axon Chiropractic and Rehab accept insurance?
While all services offered at Axon Chiropractic and Rehab are by licensed practitioners and can be covered by most extended health insurance plans, we do not do direct billing. Once services are rendered, payment can be made by credit, debit or American Express. Your invoice (insurance receipt) will be provided to you to claim against your extended health insurance, should you have coverage.
Are tips and gratuities expected for practitioners?
No, we do not expect monetary tips and our team strictly does not accept them. The best way to show your appreciation is to leave us a Google Review!
Is chiropractic care or massage therapy covered by OHIP?
Chiropractic care and registered massage therapy are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). However, both services are covered by most extended health insurance plans through your employer or private provider. We recommend checking your policy for annual coverage limits. At Axon, we provide insurance receipts after each visit so you can submit your claim after your visit.
How much does a chiropractic or massage therapy session cost?
Please visit our Pricing page for current rates. Both chiropractic and registered massage therapy services are typically covered by extended health insurance plans. We provide an insurance receipt after each visit for you to claim.
Do you offer same-day or walk-in appointments?
We do our best to accommodate same-day appointments when availability allows. The fastest way to check real-time availability is through our online booking system. You are also welcome to call us at 416-901-2966 and we will do our best to fit you in.
Where is Axon Chiropractic and Rehab located, and how do I get there?
We are located at 200 Consumers Road, North York, Ontario. The clinic is easily accessible from the Yonge-Sheppard corridor, Willowdale, Parkway Forest community, and the Victoria Park and Sheppard area. See our full directions page for transit and parking details.
What is the difference between a chiropractor and a physiotherapist?
Both chiropractors and physiotherapists treat musculoskeletal conditions, but their approaches differ. Chiropractors specialize in manual therapy — adjustments, joint mobilization, and soft tissue techniques. Physiotherapists typically focus on exercise rehabilitation and movement retraining. At Axon, Dr. Perrin Yiu combines manual therapy with exercise prescription and functional rehabilitation for a comprehensive approach.
What is the difference between a chiropractor and a registered massage therapist (RMT)?
Both are regulated healthcare providers but have different scopes of practice. Chiropractors diagnose and treat disorders of the joints, spine, and nervous system. RMTs focus on soft tissues — muscles, fascia, and connective tissue. At Axon, both services can be used independently or together as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
Are your practitioners regulated healthcare providers?
Yes. Dr. Perrin Yiu is a registered chiropractor in Ontario. All massage therapists on our team are Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) certified by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Being regulated means our practitioners meet rigorous educational and professional standards, and our services are eligible for extended health insurance reimbursement.
